Code of Conduct

At Uvoo we adhere to ISC2 Code of Ethics https://www.isc2.org/ethics.

"With great power comes great responsibility." This is the iconic phrase used by Peter Parker in Spiderman. We adhere to that.

The ISC2 Code of Ethics is a mandatory set of guidelines that all certified cybersecurity professionals must uphold to maintain their credentials. It is built upon four foundational canons designed to ensure integrity, public safety, and accountability across the profession.

The 4 Mandatory Canons

Every ISC2 professional must follow these principles:

  1. Protect society, the common good, necessary public trust and confidence, and the infrastructure.
  2. Act honorably, honestly, justly, responsibly, and legally.
  3. Provide diligent and competent service to principals.
  4. Advance and protect the profession.

Ethical Decision-Making

When faced with conflicts of interest or difficult security dilemmas, professionals are expected to prioritize duties in this specific order: https://www.infosecinstitute.com/resources/cissp/the-isc2-code-of-ethics-a-binding-requirement-for-certification/

  1. Public safety and the common good
  2. Duties to principals (employers/clients)
  3. Duties to individuals
  4. Duties to the profession

Regarding organizational risk acceptance, there is a consensus among cybersecurity professionals on Reddit that documenting and having senior leadership accept a security risk absolves the practitioner of ethical violation, provided the risk itself is not illegal.

Code of Professional Conduct

ISC2 also maintains an expanded global framework known as the ISC2 Code of Professional Conduct. This document broadens ethical obligations to include guidance on modern challenges like artificial intelligence, reporting concerns, and continuous professional competence.

For official enforcement procedures or to read the full ISC2 Code of Ethics, review the guidance provided by the ISC2 Professional Conduct Committee.

In the 2026 Netflix film "The Rip", Matt Damon's character has tattoos on his hands that read A.W.T.G.G. (Are We The Good Guys) and W.A.A.W.B. (We Are And Always Will Be). The primary slogan "Are We The Good Guys" is a direct reference to Cormac McCarthy's novel The Road. A question a son asks his father throughout the novel & a question we must always ask ourselves. Taking the ethical an moral high ground is pinnacle for our organization.

We are and always will be the good guys but if at anytime with your interaction with Uvoo's employees you feel we fail to meet these code of ethics please report immediately to the conduct & ethics team. If we don't have trust as business partnership we have failed as a company.
